OTHG Race 4

The S&S boys did it again, taking both the 4WD and F.1 wins and second as well. Our benevolent leader managed to get third in 4WD and Mr. Model Car hisself snuck by Mike Pawl to get third in F.1 with a fresh out of the box Jordan. With Baja Fresh providing the luncheon a fabulous time was had by all. For complete results go to the OTHG website.

Competition Notes
We are currently running open class, Category 1 cars which are essentially unlimited with regards to motors, magnets and tires. Our final three 2005 events were contested primarily by red-motored (35K) Fly and Slot.it chassis and TSRF powered TSRFs.

TrakMate voltage is set to 13vDC and the heats were extended from 2 minutes at the first meeting to 3 at the next two. So far only Marc has fried a motor.

Category 1 cars should vary in lap times from Daniel Snipes' record 2.7 to the 3.1 turned by Alex in the last race. As we are still in the process of finalizing rules some experimentation will continue for a few more events.

Category 2 will be for Slot.it, Fly cars with one magnet and 29K motors, Fly Evo 3 magnet cars, the Revell 550 and anything else running in the 3.9 to 4.2 second range.

Category 3 will be for modified Scalextric and Ninco cars using stock motors and one large and one small magnet and should run 4.3 to 5.0 seconds a lap.

A separate F.1 class will begin with some kind of equalization formula to compensate for the speed differential between the Scalextric, Ninco and Carrera cars. All classes will allow for silicone tires. Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

OTHG and ITG events will be run to their rules.
