The First Cartix Grand Prix for pre-1960 GP cars was held May 10 at Mr. Model Car. Entrants were Gary
Woods, Terry de los Santos, Tim Weston, Russell Bracher and Chris Chan. Gary had a number of Cartrix cars but settled on his
1956 Gordini T32. Chris was planning on running his 1955 Mercedes Benz W196, but some mechanical issues with the loaners,
it was allocated to the loaner car pool. Terry got his car the day of the race and showed how well and quickly he could prep
it. Gary did have the edge both in the size of his fleet and the degree of preparation and testing he was able to do. Even
then, he only won by three tenths.
Heats were run for five minutes. Voltage set at 13. Stock magnets were used.
